Completing this motivational interviewing assignment helped me realize that educating patients isn't just about giving information, it's about listening, asking the right questions, and working together to create realistic goals. I learned that patients are much more likely to make positive changes when they feel supported instead of judged. This assignment helped me build stronger communication skills and showed me how important empathy and active listening are in creating trust with patients. It supports Program Outcome Goal #8 by strengthening my ability to communicate effectively and think critically while providing patient-centered care.
