Completing this continuing education course on the caries process helped me better understand how demineralization and remineralization affect tooth structure and overall oral health. Learning more about critical pH and how caries risk differs among patients gave me tools I can actually use when educating patients and recommending preventive care. This course reinforced the importance of early intervention and personalized prevention strategies, especially when explaining fluoride use and other protective measures. This experience supports Program Outcome Goal #6 by strengthening my ability to promote oral health and prevent disease through patient-centered education and preventive dental hygiene care.
