Completing this suicide prevention course reminded me that dental professionals have an important role in recognizing when someone may be struggling and responding with compassion. It helped me understand that even small conversations or simply knowing how to connect someone with the right resources can make a difference. This course expanded my perspective on patient care and reinforced that being a dental hygienist means caring for the whole person, not just their oral health. This experience supports Program Outcome Goal #7 by demonstrating my commitment to continuing education and lifelong learning so I can provide the best care possible to my patients.
