Completing this molar anatomy assignment strengthened my ability to assess tooth structure and recognize anatomical features that directly impact patient care. Gaining a detailed understanding of cusps, grooves, fossae, and root anatomy helped me better identify areas that are more susceptible to plaque accumulation, caries, and periodontal involvement. This knowledge supports accurate assessment and allows me to individualize oral hygiene instruction, instrumentation techniques, and preventive planning based on each patient’s needs. This experience supports Program Outcome Goal #3 by reinforcing the role of anatomical knowledge in providing comprehensive, effective, and patient-centered dental hygiene care.
